Text messaging terms
Who texts you through SMPL, what about, and how to stop. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.

1. Who sends these texts
Two kinds of businesses send text messages through SMPL:
- SMPL itself, about a demo you booked with SMPL (booking confirmation, reminders and a follow-up).
- Roofing, siding, gutter and painting companies that use SMPL's software, texting their own customers about their appointments, quotes and jobs. Each text says which company it is from, and comes from that company's own number.
Texts are delivered by Twilio, SMPL's messaging provider.
2. What we text
- Appointment reminders and booking confirmations (for example your estimate visit, your job start date, or your SMPL demo).
- Replies to messages and questions you send.
- Estimate, quote, proposal and invoice notices, with a link to view them.
- Updates about your job, such as the crew being on the way.
- A request for a review after your job, only if you agreed to receive texts. Every customer gets the same review links, and no one is offered anything in return for a review.
We don't send marketing or promotional texts unless you separately agree to them.
3. How you agree
You only get texts if you have said yes. You can say yes by:
- ticking the box that says "OK to text me about my appointment or quote" (or, on SMPL's demo form, "OK to text me about my SMPL demo") on a booking, website or referral form. The box is never ticked for you;
- telling the company's website assistant (Jackie) that it's OK to text you;
- telling someone from the company, in person or on the phone, who records that you said yes;
- texting START to the company's number.
Agreeing to texts is never a condition of buying anything or booking a visit. We keep a record of when and where you said yes and the wording you saw.
4. How often
Message frequency varies with your appointments and job, usually a few texts per appointment or job. Message and data rates may apply.
5. Stopping texts, and help
Reply STOP to any text to stop getting texts from that company. STOPALL, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END and QUIT work too. You'll get one text confirming it, and then no more.
Changed your mind? Reply START to the same number to start getting texts again.
Reply HELP for help. You'll get the company's name and how to reach it. You can also contact the company directly, or SMPL at josh@smplcontracting.com.
6. Your mobile number and privacy
We never sell, rent or share mobile numbers or texting opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. We share them only with the service providers that deliver the texts (Twilio and the mobile carriers), and only to deliver them.
Our privacy policy (smplcontracting.com/privacy) explains how we handle personal information.
7. Carriers
Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Texts are for mobile numbers in the United States and Canada.
